Space connector

The Aurora family of Hard Metric backplane connectors is part of Smiths Interconnect’s SpaceNXT initiative, creatinga broad range of high-reliability connectivity solutions that are readily available to the market and are pre-tested and qualified for next generation space applications.

The series is specifically designed for LEO satellites and currently available in threesizes of 55, 110 and 125 contacts in an industry standard gender configuration, instraight and right-angle terminations.

SpaceNXT Aurora is offered with 1.27 micron gold plating on the contact mating surfaces for improved durability and resistance to fretting corrosioncompared tostandard COTS Hard Metric connectors.

The new connectors have gone through  qualification testing to ESA ESCC 3401 specifications.
