Electronica: Rigol announces signal generators, and talks scopes

Rigol-instruments-Electronica-2018

Intended to be ‘low-cost’ DG800 and DG900 are the multi-functional generators – combing: function generator, arbitrary signal generator, pulse generator, harmonic generator, modulator (analog/digital) and counter.

In addition using direct digital synthesis to provide stable, precise, and minimally distorted signals, they include something branded ‘SiFi II’ which reduces signal jitter to 200ps.

Scope-wise, Rigol will show a range-topping instrument with bandwidths from 600MHz to 2GHz and “a multitude of highly efficient functions”, it said, adding nothing more except it will be available from Q1 next year.

As well, the recent MSO/DS7000 mixed-signal digital oscilloscope series will be featured on the firm’s stand (hall A3 stand 231). THe 7000 series is built around an in-house asic and features bandwidths from 100MHz to 500MHz with sampling rates of up to 10Gsample/s. The colour touch screen is 10.1″.

“For recording and processing of large measurement data sets, a memory depth of up to 500 million points is available, and with a signal acquisition rate of up to 600,000waveform/s.

MSO5000 is the next performance level down, with bandwidths ranging from 70MHz to 350MHz and sampling rates up to 8Gsample/s. The screen is 9in, there is up to 200 million points of memory and acquisition up to 500,000waveform/s.

In addition, for the RSA5000 series Rigol will detail vector signal analysis software (VSA), which will also be available from Q1 2019. Integrated in the signal analysers, and also be available as an upgrade for existing RSA5000s, the user gets a comprehensive tool for demodulation and vector signal analysis to find problems in time, frequency and modulation domains.
