Part of the Osire product family, E4633i, includes three LED die – red, green and blue – as well as a serial control driver “thus enables completely new design options for automotive interior,” said the firm.

In a 4.6 x 3.3 x 0.7mm package, it is pre-calibrated, and can be colour corrected against temperature fluctuations.

“In future, the interior of vehicles will be more than just a driver’s cab. It will be an extension of our living space where we can work and relax,” claimed Osram marketing manager Stephan Pawlik. “Future built-in light sources can also take on additional functions in addition to ambient lighting. For example, through dynamic and colour effects, they can help bring the driver’s attention back to traffic in good time.”

Rinspeed-Snap‘Snap’, the Rinspeed concept vehicle, which includes Osram components, will be in the Osram stand (155, hall B4). Functioning a bit like Thunderbird 2 (the add-on bits are even called ‘pods’), Snap is a vehicle chassis on which can be placed various bodies for difference uses.

More broadly, topics addressed on the Osram Opto Semiconductors stand will include:

“This year we will be showing some of the latest developments in the sectors automotive, connection, safety & security, mobility and well-being & health,” said Osram head of events Martina Opitz.
